Fall Schedule

Intro to Ashtanga

September 10, 2017

In this 6-week series, we will meet once a week to explore the Ashtanga Yoga asana method. Ashtanga is a traditional method of  vinyasa that synchronizes movement and posture with the rhythm of the breath. It is a set sequence of poses intentionally organized to progress the student deeper into their body, mind, and inner self to achieve eventual total self transformation.

In this series we will:

  • Learn the history and lineage of Ashtanga into the present day

  • Learn the opening and closing mantras

  • Learn how to use Bandhas and Pranayama to strengthen your practice

  • Practice the Ashtanga Yoga and Mysore (self practice) Method!

By the completion of this series you will feel confident in any of our ashtanga classes, and be prepared to begin Mysore practice!

Upon completion of series, attendants get 2 free weeks of Mysore practice!
